5 out of 5 stars Thrill Pack Offers Lots of Thrills!   August 18, 2008
We upgraded from Roller Coaster Tycoon to RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 with the Thrill packet and love it! I get so involved inplaying that I forget the time. A great stress reliever that takes you away to another world. All my children love it from ages 10 to 17. Lots of extra options and features make this a great sim game!

5 out of 5 stars AWESOME!!!!!!   September 5, 2007
This game is so totally AWESOME! (if you know how to do it) There is a toolbox on the main menu. Click on it. It will say 'Scenario Editor.' In a scenario you can create your own sized park, your own rides, even your own color water!! Take my advice; go to Target and BUY THIS GAME!!!!

5 out of 5 stars Building your own Theme Park is GREAT!!!!!   August 11, 2007
The expansion pack to this popular PC game is non-stop fun!!!! I especially enjoy the "Wacky Worlds" edition, which allows you to build your theme park in exotic locations around the world (places like The Great Wall of China, etc.). This game will impress you so much, that you will soon find yourself addicted. GAME ON PEOPLE!!!!!!!

3 out of 5 stars Not Quite So Thrill Worthy...   July 24, 2007

For those of you familiar with the RCT series, this is the second 'version' of it + the two expansions that came out alongside RCT2, Wacky Worlds and Time Twister. Overall it's worth it to bundle the 3 packs together, but much of the complaints about WW & TT are fully warranted.

The game of course, is a simulation based game where you open and run a theme park in order to obtain a certain goal. The original game was hugely successful with its easy user interface and challenging play...RCT2 doesn't really expand on that a whole lot other than adding some new building/design features, a ton of new rides and theming, and a new variety of challenges (such as paying off loans, building X number of rollercoasters, and so on). There is also the addition of building your own style of park, or playing in 'real world' parks based on the Six Flags franchise. There are now 3 levels of play that allow you access to all the scenarios at once (rather than having to beat some to gain access to new ones) - beginner, challenging, and expert. Another interesting twist is the fact you can now only have one source of income - either you charge your guests admission for unlimited rides, or you charge them per ride (shops, stalls etc. income not withstanding). Both of these options provide challenges and advantages that add a dynamic element to the game.

The two expansions add a bunch of new scenarios that are themed to their various titles. Wacky Worlds has themes (usually one at each level of play) surrounding Africa, China, America, Europe etc. Time Twister's themes include Rock & Roll, Roaring 20's, Stone Age, and Future etc. Each 'theme' is applied to a specific scenario - such as a Roaring 20's park set on the island prison Alcatraz, or the Rock & Roll park set on Woodstock.

The expansions don't really add anything new persay - all of the 'new' rides are really just themed versions of rides already in existence, either through new rollercoaster carts for previously existing coasters, or new decorated versions of existing rides...ie: the go-karts become long, 20's style vehicles if you are playing a roaring 20's scenario. As if it weren't letdown enough that the new rides aren't really 'new', they also aren't really available beyond their themed scenarios - in other words the expansions fail to integrate with one another. You can only access rock and roll themeing/themed rides in rock and roll scenarios. Although if you wanted to build your own park, I'm sure that'd be fixable.

In terms of the new scenarios, the ones that come with the base game of RCT 2 are pretty simple but surprisingly a fair bit more challenging (from what I've experienced) of the ones that come with the expansions. I found I could complete certain Time Twister/Wacky Worlds challenges within a few months rather than the year or two it normally takes to complete something. For some reason, I found it less satisfying to work on building a park with the themes the game supplied me with...I'd much rather theme my own park, and that is what would make me stick around after my goal was completed, but unfortunately the developers didn't seem to realize that.

Overall RCT2 is good if you basically want to expand your original gameplay. The dropped price of this pack reflects its lack of improvement on the original - especially in terms of graphics. IF you are a diehard RCT fan, and just want to play something new, then pick up this RCT2 pack, otherwise you might want to try out RCT3.

4 out of 5 stars Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 Triple Trill Pack   May 9, 2007
I boaght this for my 8 year old daughter and I can't seem to get her off her laptop for anything. This game is actually alot of fun for the both of us because she enjoys making rides for me since I am a big Roller Coaster Freak. I would recommend this game if asked.
