Product Description
Intec's Safe Screens provide your DS Lite with a protective transparent film for both screens. These films cling to the screen and can be removed by just peeling them off, no messy glues to worry about. Safe Screens are thin enough to maintain the sensitivity of the DS stylus, yet strong enough to prevent unwanted scratches on your screen.

4 out of 5 stars As Expected   September 23, 2008
Based on previous reviews, I decided to practice applying the screens using the top screen (the unnecessary one). I had a bit of trouble applying it straight enough, and because I had to take it off and apply it again, some dust collected on it and I couldn't get all the bubbles out. After a bit of practice, the bottom screen was easier to apply, and though it's not on quite as straight as I'd prefer, it doesn't have any bubbles or dust under it, so I'm not touching it.
I played with the top screen on for awhile, and the bubbles didn't affect the play, but they irritated me (I'm a perfectionist), so I had to remove that screen and play without it. Having the bottom screen on doesn't seem to affect the sensitivity very much at all. You can tell there's something on there, but it doesn't affect the playability.

1 out of 5 stars Vain hope for screen protectors   June 11, 2008
I read the reviews of these screen protectors before making my own purchase. They report either complete success or complete failure so, of course, I was hoping my story would be one of success. Alas! I carefully cleaned the lower screen of my new Nintendo DS Lite and removed the plastic support attached to tab #1, so far so good. The protector went on fine but then came the part where so may others describe failure: removal of tab #2. I'm not sure why packaging would be so different that some of the products have clear films to which the stickers are attached, as described by Elizabeth Moynihan, and other versions of the product have 1 clear film to which tab #1 is attached but no second clear film separate from the protector for attaching tab #2. (I checked again carefully today to make sure there really is not an additional layer and, no, there is not.) In fact, tab #2 did not lift cleanly from my screen protector, leaving about half the adhesive with the torn paper on the protector. I called Intec and they claimed that they never heard of this and accused me of not correctly removing the tab. (How can you not correctly remove a tab???? If it's such a trick they would do well to actually provide some written instructions! Apparently they've never heard of Post-Its...) However, the guy played along and tried the process on one from their stock and, sure enough, he was able to recreate it. However, he continued to insist that more careful removal would not have resulted in the problem. He offered me the opportunity of paying for return shipping to receive a replacement or trying a product called Goo-Gone to remove the remaining sticker. I declined. I'm going to try to get a replacement from J&R but I still may end up paying for return shipping and the replacement may not work any better than the original.Nintendo DS Lite Safe Screen

5 out of 5 stars Great screen protectors   March 14, 2008

I'm very happy with these screen protectors. They fit my DS lite screens perfectly, and do not significantly affect the touch screen sensitivity. Game play has not been affected at all, and I'm much happier knowing my screens are safe.

Application is a little tricky, but after examining everything carefully and planning it out, the protectors went on nicely, with just some tiny bubbles at the very edges, which don't affect the game, or the display. The directions were hard to find at first - they're on the back of the squeegee. They went on best if you squeegee with one hand, while peeling the film away from the protector with the other. Getting the second film off is a little tough - the first time I tried pulling up on the sticker, the whole protector came off, not just the film mask. I had to reapply the protector, which went on again just fine, and the second time I managed to get the second film off, with no problem.

I don't understand the problems people say they have with the stickers. In the product I got, the stickers were attached to the clear film that you remove and discard, not to the screen protectors themselves. I used the stickers to peel the film away from the protectors, and they worked very well, and I discarded them still attached to the film. Is it possible that some people confused the films with the protectors?
It's worthwhile before you start applying to make sure you know what they mean in the directions by the "backing" (clear thin films on both sides with stickers attached) and the "lens protector" (thicker clear plastic in the middle).

Once it's on, though, these protectors are great - I can hardly tell they're on there, and they stick without any adhesive.

1 out of 5 stars Don't buy for your DS   February 12, 2008

Product did not fit the touch screen on my DS, it was oversize compared to the screen. I threw mine away! Definitely not recommended!
