Product Description Now you can fit sweeping landscapes into a single frame with the 28mm wide-angle setting. Pull in subjects from far away to capture even subtle facial expressions with the dynamic 280mm telephoto setting. Ideal for traveling, Panasonic's DMC-TZ4 Lumix 8.1-megapixel digital camera combines a wide-ranging LEICA DC Vario-Elmar lens with a handy, compact body. The Extra Optical Zoom function also extends the zoom to as much as 15.9x, giving you even greater telephoto power. Set the TZ4 to iA mode and let the five Intelligent Auto functions team up to help prevent shooting errors. Intelligent Exposure corrects lighting differences, so images come out just the way you see them; Intelligent Scene Selector chooses the mode that best fits the situation; MEGA Optical Image Stabilization helps prevent blurring from hand-shake; Intelligent ISO Control helps prevent motion blur; and Face Detection helps produce clear portraits by optimizing the focus and exposure settings. The Intelligent big bright 2.5" LCD adjusts brightness automatically as the ambient light level changes, so images are clear, bright and easy to see. f=4.6-46mm (35mm equiv - 28-280mm) Focal Length 2.5 Diagonal Polycrystalline TFT LCD Display (230K dots) Focusing Area Normal - Wide 50cm/Tele 200cm - infinity, Macro/Intelligent AUTO / Clipboard - Wide 5cm / Max 200cm / Tele 100cm - infinity 8 - 1/2,000 sec. Descent July 21, 2008 No frills, feels really solid, pretty compact for a 10x. But I think if I had to do it over I would get the TZ5K, the manual is annoying when it says it can do a certian function then has a * saying TZ5 only....
Great Little Camera July 20, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was looking for a camera small enough to fit into a pocket during kayaking expeditions or hikes but that still had more than a 3X zoom!! Hard to come by! This camera finally fit the bill and I couldn't be happier with it! The Intelligent Auto mode is amazing! I thought just AUTO was easy but this is even easier and more precise. The wide angle lens by Leica is also a plus and the 10X zoom allows me to take closer shots of wildlife I see on my outings. So far, I'm very happy with this camera. The price was incredibly reasonable as well!
Panasonic TZ4 July 19, 2008 Amazing little digital camera. The pictures are not quite as good as my SLR, but almost -- and definately more portable!
Incredible shots for an incredible price! July 18, 2008 After shooting several shots with this camera I can safely say that I would recommend it to anyone who asks. To see some shots taken with the tz4 go to http://www.flickr.com/photos/flickrplicker/
Nice Little Camera for the Pocket July 17, 2008 Can't ask for an easier to use menu interface. Great pictures. Umpteen picture taking modes. Everything is automatic, meaning there is no manual aperture or exposure settings. Having just gotten this recently, I was surprised the easy the shooting mode dial turns... maybe too easy. in fact, I wonder if it's loose... anybody owning same, please comment.
