5 out of 5 stars AWESOME!   July 6, 2008
I won't repeat what others say so I'll be unique.

+++PRO: I plugged in my Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000. it's awesome! my friend in Texas said he could see me clearly. I'm really excited that my webcam works with the PS3, as I've heard some don't.

---CON: Netflix's "Watch Instantly" feature doesn't work on here. The browser on the PS3 isn't compatible with Netflix. Now I can't watch movies online through Netflix, so I'll have to shell out another $99 for a Roku player and add another black box near my otherwise clean, modern style home theater system. 'twould be nice if the PS3 could negotiate a deal with Netflix then include the modification in their next system update...

Overall, it's fantastic. It's freakin' fantastic.

4 out of 5 stars PS3 is sweet but 360 is still better deal   July 6, 2008

I have a 360 and a PS3, which i bought only so i could play metal gear solid. I know i spent $500 just to play one game, pathetic, but oh well.

There is this one reviewer to says a PS3 would be a cheaper choice than a 360. He's wrong because:

He forgot to mention that the Xbox 360 has a wireless controller in the box that actually VIBRATES. To get this on the PS3, you need to dish out fifty bucks. Oh and he forgot to mention that the PS3 comes with NO HI-DEF cables, so to watch those movies in hi-def that nobody does anyways, you need to dish out $20 for some PS3 component cables or an HDMI cable. Then he forgets to mention NO HEADSET, which the 360 comes with, no ETHERNET cable, which the 360 comes with.

So lets compare:

PS3- $400
Vibrating controller: $55
Component Cables: $20
Ethernet Cable: $10
Headset: $25
TOTAL: $510

XBOX 360: $350
Vibrating Controller: FREE/INCLUDED
Component cables: FREE/INCLUDED
Ethernet Cable: FREE/INCLUDED
Headset: FREE/INCLUDED
Wireless: $90 on amazon

So Xbox 360: $440, PS3: $510

And for those of you who are going to tell me that the PS3 has a 40GB HDD, then:

Fine buy an Xbox 360 Elite. It has a 120GB HDD, and you only pay $100 more. And this 360 includes an HDMI cable.

So in the end: Xbox 360 120GB: $540
PS3: $510

Thirty bucks more for 120gb vs 40gb. Hmm? Need i say more?
And before we get into the blu ray argument again, honestly how many people have abandoned regular $10 DVDs for $25 dollar blu-ray discs?

The 360 also upscales to 1080p if you use HDMI...

PS3 is good, but only for one game: Metal Gear Solid 4. Every other game is better on 360. I mean call of duty 4 doesn't even vibrate with the new controller because when it was being developed, there was no dualshock 3!!

Just buy a 360 if you want to save money...

Also, the 360 may not be 100% backwards compatible with XBOX original games, but at least it has a good rate with a number of titles out there. This 40GB PS3 can play ZERO, NO PS2 games at all. Apparently the engineers at sony can't even program this famed "cell processor" to emulate a 300Mhz PS2 CPU.

So there you have it. There are also many websites on google that show the graphics comparison between the two same games on the two different consoles. I'll leave you to guess which one has better graphics.

5 out of 5 stars greatest system   July 5, 2008

This is going to be short and sweet. The PS3 is a superior gaming system. I have played this thing non stop it seems. Also, the blu ray player is probably the best thing about it. Also, the online network is free.
Playing games online is the best.

5 out of 5 stars greatest next gen. console   July 5, 2008

Compared to the other system on the market such as the xbox 360 or the Nntendo wii the ps3 is no dought the most advanced, threwmany different aspects but the big one being blu-ray. if you have ever seen blu-ray you know what i am talking about imagine that threw gaming, a game like metal gear solid 4 which takes almost full advantage of what the ps3 has to offer, games like this seperate the ps3 from any other console. With the game library of 2008 and early 2009 such as killzone 2, final fantasy 13, socom, little big planet, god of war 3, bioshock, and maybe a possiblity of home, the 3D virtual online world the ps3 no dought has the best game lineup set for the upcomming months if you look at the price of the ps3 you actually get what you are paying for such as built in wifi, blutooth technology, Six-Axis, and of course blu-ray i suggest this console to any age gamer that wants to expirence great technology in the making....

5 out of 5 stars Thank GOD I Found This On Amazon!   July 4, 2008

After days of searching reviews for a Blu-ray player, I stumble on Amazon to discover a game machine is actually considered THE best format for watching a High Def DVD! We watch a new NetFlix DVD every single night on it with NO problems. Only games I have played it it were the free demos we downloaded off it's internet capabilities for FREE. Save yourself a lot of heartache, just buy this and relax. Have to get back to my movies now....
