Triforce DS fun pack May 4, 2008 I think this is the best possible way to get a New Nintendo DS Lite! The Legend of Zelda Phantom Hourglass special edition Nintendo DS Lite is the coolest DS ever! Plus it comes with the game! I just recently beat the game and the game is the best DS game I've ever beaten! Play against friends without the game, play friends with the game and also play people around the world with Nintendo WFC (Wi-FI Connection)! This game really adds a boom to the Zelda series!
Not impressed May 2, 2008 I'm a big Nintendo fan and a huge Zelda fan so when I saw this bundle on Amazon I immediately got excited. I threw in Brain Age for something a little different and checked out without hesitation. Upon opening the box (which was a real pain) I unhappily held this light, plastic gaming system that hardly seemed worth the money I paid for it. I plugged it in and turned it on. The screen was bright and sharp, but a little pixelated. I had expected Nintendo to give us some better graphics comparable to the PSP. But alas, they're still on a lesser bit system than the rest of the world (I have a Wii, but that will get it's dues in another review). The touch screen seemed pretty accurate, but it was pixelated as well and a little hard to use as you have no palm rest or anything and the stylus' are very small. Overall, slightly disappointing, but not a complete waste. After all, how much can one expect from a hand held gaming system.
My review of Zelda. Horrible. The top-down nature of the game took me back to the original Zelda on the NES. Had I wanted to play this, I would have bought a GameBoy Color or Advance and gotten the original Zelda for it. The stylus controls were disappointing at best and very inaccurate. For a game like Zelda where wielding a sword and shield against foes is key to success, the controls should be easier and more intuitive. The graphics were again pixelated and using the stylus was annoying. The story followed Windwaker pretty closely which was disappointing. I had anticipated a better follow-up to the GameCube Zelda that more closely resembled Twilight Princess.
Brain Age was decent. A lot of fun for about two days and then it got repetitive and the character was just plain annoying. A rather uninspiring game, but good for road trips and friends that want to have a basic mathematics battle.
Overall, disappointed in both the system and the games. Nintendo dropped the ball on this one. I would have much rather seen tighter graphics and better, smoother game play than a touch screen.
The best part about this system? It went on eBay about 3 weeks after I received it and I actually got slightly more than I paid for it. Thank goodness it was the "Limited Zelda Edition." The PSP will have my money in the future should I decide to get another hand held. Games and graphics far exceed that of the DS lineup.
Excited son April 11, 2008 Got this game for my son. He found one in a store but when we went to get it, it was already gone. Was very happy to get this one. Everything was as it said it would be. Seller did a great job in getting the game to us in plenty of time for Christmas. As you can see I'm just real slow about reviews. I'm new to this stuff. Promise to get better.I can't rate the game because I don't play but I can say my son is very happy.
Wonderful Little Fun March 15, 2008 From the moment you open the package...it just feels like fun. It charges fairly quickly so your play can begin. I love the convenience of size. The graphics are better than past handhelds that I have used. Overall, it is a fun time that is worth its weight in gold.
DE-LITED!!!!!! February 27, 2008 Nintendo DS Lite Gold with Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (NDS Bundle)
Purchased for my 14 year old daughter. She couldn't have been more pleased. Very hard to find the Zelda: Phantom Hourglass Bundle. She and her friends are obsessed with Zelda and this really made her birthday special.
