great............. when it works May 17, 2008 i love my xbox...or at least i did until it got the 'red ring of death'. no problem...go online, find out that for this hardware problem (and only this problem specifically) get it fixed for free (and I would add way beyond the normal one year warranty period as it is a common problem)...and when you review other websites/blogs you realise why. it seems this is more than just a common problem...staggeringly, apparently more than 30% are plagued with it...and it's all because the soldered joints in the hardware are flawed. the heat generated by the system tends to break them causing a 'general hardware failure'. apparently 'they' knew about this early on and set money aside to 'fix' any affected units later. well after it got 'fixed' and i was without my system for several weeks, it's now decided to break again after 4 weeks of very low useage. no 'red ring' this time...i suppose this is all part of the corporate game you have to 'play' as they never admit these problems are theirs and you have to spend so much of your own time resolving them that i am surprised people want this kind of headache from a consumer good
Not biest to systems!!! Like them all, but 360 i play the most. May 15, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
this is by far the best system out as far as access, online, price, and games. but i cant leave out the all to popular RROD (RED RING OF DEATH) which has befallen all but two of my 360s to date. dont let that drive you away from buying one. microsoft has a great warrenty on it. turn it in they fix it and send it back. i just bought several so when one goes out i send it in and play the other while its gitting fixed. i know not everybody can buy more than xbox 360, but it only takes a few weeks for microsoft to send it back good as new. there is also some do-it-yourself books on how to fix the RROD in 1 hour. dont fret, you will be playing for a long time before your system goes out. just dont let it get to hot and you will be playing for at the least 1 year before the RROD will hit you. xbox live is a masterpeace of modern network comunication, just jump right in and play. SEE YOU ONLINE.
Great Gaming experience May 15, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I just purchased the Xbox 360 Pro. I do not consider myself an expert gamer, however, I have enjoyed the Halo series which is why I picked up the 360. It was delivered quicker than estimated, arrived in perfect condition and I had it up and running in about 20 minutes. The picture clarity and game action is great, it is definitely a step up from the Xbox.
It does not satisfy my needs May 14, 2008 4 out of 7 found this review helpful
Okay so we own all three of the new consoles, and this one hardly ever gets used. I mean I guess if you're a teenage boy and a hardcore gamer then I would say you might like it. Plus this was the most expensive system. It was $350 for the system, $75 for the wi fi, $50 for Xbox Live (per year), I think it was like $80 for the HD DVD add on and it only has a 20GB hard drive what gives with that? Plus the HD DVD add on is useless now. The fun you get out of this system does not justify the cost of it. When I was researching this on the internet I would always read about how it has the most games, to be honest it does have the most games but it also has the worst games I've ever played. Most of the games for the Xbox 360 are first shooter games and I hate those. Plus I hate having to worry about getting the RROD every time I turn it on. It also gets extremely hot. My Wii and PS3 never get as hot as the 360. I'm sorry, but I cannot recommend this console to others.
Great gaming system May 13, 2008 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
If you're looking to play online multiplayer games, buy the 360. Xbox Live is far beyond anything Sony and Nintendo have at the moment.
As for hardware issues, I've had my 360 since Nov. 2006, and it's been solid as a rock. I've shipped it, moved it, even dropped it. Maybe I'm just lucky, but don't pay attention to the 1 star naysayers. The 360 has the best collection of games of all the current systems. I feel like the controller is better than the PS3's (something that should not be overlooked).
