Amazon.com Product Description
The Hasbro Transformers Ultimate Bumblebee Figure is the premium movie-based Transformers toy on the market. Standing more than 14 inches tall, this action figure is more than deserving of the title "Ultimate." With his sleek design, his battle and conversation sounds, and his advanced animatronics system, Ultimate Bumblebee is one of the most fully featured action figures you'll ever find.

The Bumblebee fully featured action figure delivers animatronics and sounds. View larger. View Side.

Bumblebee's car form is as detailed and well built as any model car. View larger. View Side.
Two Awesome Modes
Recommended for ages five and up, Ultimate Bumblebee is perfect for toy collectors and kids alike. Initially, Ultimate Bumblebee appears as a sleek 2008 Camaro. With its vivid yellow finish and racing stripes, Ultimate Bumblebee's car form is as detailed and well built as any model car and would be a perfect addition to a cabinet or dresser top. The car is able to roll freely on carpet and hard surfaces alike.

However, like all Transformers, there is more to Ultimate Bumblebee's Camaro form than meets the eye. When it is time for him to come out of disguise and confront his enemies, he can transform into a massive, powerful robot. Equipped with a plasma cannon, he is more than prepared to defend your local Autobot from Decepticon attacks.

With a few minor adjustments, kids can transform Ultimate Bumblebee seamlessly between his robot and his vehicle mode. His robot mode stands an impressive 14 inches, and is fully articulated, meaning that kids can adjust him into any pose. He is also incredibly detailed -- likely one of the most attractive action figures your aspiring heros will ever get their hands on.

Advanced Animatronics and Sounds
Ultimate Bumblebee features an advanced animatronic design, which means he can move and animate himself when in robot mode. With the touch of a button, he'll burst into motion. His head moves expressively from side to side, and his arms and wings both move up and down. He can even aim his plasma cannon and fire off his missile.

Perhaps most impressively, he has full sound detection capabilities. He will respond to noises by turning and making sounds of his own. In addition to his animatronics and motion, Ultimate Bumblebee can also make a variety of exciting sounds. This ever-vigilant Autobot has 17 different heroic conversation phrases, such as "Let's roll out!" and "Take that, Decepticon!" He also makes battle sounds -- kids will hear the firing of his plasma cannon and the whirring, crushing sound of his movements. He'll even boogie as he plays Devo's popular song, "Whip It."

About Transformers
The Transformers began as a Hasbro toy line back in 1983, featuring toy vehicles that could transform into robots. The toys soon inspired an entire universe of fictional story lines, pitting the two factions of Transformers -- the heroic Autobots and the evil Decepticons -- against one another. A live-action movie based on the Transformers was released in 2007 and has continued the toy line's extreme popularity. With toys such as the Ultimate Bumblebee Figure, kids can bring home the struggle between the Autobots and Decepticons.

1 out of 5 stars Cool Toy but poorly manufactured   June 19, 2008
I bought two of these Toys for last Christmas for my 9 year old and 7 year old sons. It was really cool at first when we transformed it into car mode, but it kept falling apart in the middle section of the car. Seemed very delicate! I was not to thrilled with this. Once we transformed it into Robot mode we were even more dissatisfied for it did not work properly. The wings did not move correctly, nor did the arms. They were trying to move, but the parts inside were missing a connection with each other so it only made continuous clicking sounds. The only things that did work properly were the sounds and lights.

Transforming from car mode to robot mode was actually quite easy for we know there was a website on transformers.com that showed you step by step transforming for the toy in video made, so we could play and pause as we went. My 7 year old son was able to transform it.

Unfortunately we purchased the toys off of Ebay since they were sold out and impossible to find anywhere else. What a huge mistake that was. The seller would not allow us to return them because they were opened. It did not matter that they were defective. Warning to all - Do not buy expensive items off Ebay!!!

So, 240.00 later, we have two toys that never worked that sit in the corner collecting dust. Waste of Money!

2 out of 5 stars ultimate bumblebee not that good   June 8, 2008
I brought this toy in Oct07, here are my comments:

Likeness of the toy to movie: 60% (therefore I buy the optimus prime (leader class afterwards because it's more fun)

bad things:
in robot mode, chest is too low like a 50~year-old woman.
The right arm is not bendable, too short makes it like a handicap
articulation is bad, very limited.
The minor wings and the back lights are not placed correctly (with Optimus Prime's design I think it should be possible)
I would rather have the car roof foldable so I could have a better look of the robot's back, now it's like a big butt.

Good things:
the rear wheels are really folded in like in movie which is much nicer than others.
the chest, although it's placed not good, but it could be folded to be like which in movie.

1 out of 5 stars Horrible "toy"   May 22, 2008
This thing "looks" cool but is impossible to transform. Both my nephew and his cousin got them for Christmas and neither the kids nor their parents can reassemble it in either direction once starting to unhook things. Both are now relegated to the back of the closet never to be played with again. What a waste of money!

5 out of 5 stars Ultimate Bumblebee is the Ultimate Transformer!   May 1, 2008

I just ordered Ultimate Bumblebee in the mail less than a week ago and it arrived today. I unwrapped it and finally (once I had gotten it out of the five layers of packaging) I was able to hold it for the first time. And wow. What a toy. Ultimate Bumblebee is BY FAR my favorite Transformer. With so many moving parts, lights, sounds, 17 phrases and 9 songs, what's not to like? Bumblebee stands about four inches taller than the Leader Class Megatron, which is already saying something. Just wait. In vehicle mode when flipped up to show the underside of the car, it is still about two inches taller than Megatron. I was in awe. There are no real let downs to this toy. The only things I can think of are these: 1. The shoulders are a pain to lock into place each time you transform it into a robot. 2. Well, I don't really have a second thing. That's how awesome this toy is.
I would very very very very very very very very highly recommend this toy. Though little kids may need adult help transform it, but that's not a problem. the video instructions on trasnformers.com really help.
No transformer collection is complete without ULTIMATE BUMBLEBEE!

5 out of 5 stars Amazing toy but too advance for a 3 year old.   April 22, 2008
I got this product for my son for his 5th B'day and he loved it. The tough part came when I started transforming it to a Car. Man, that took me about 1.5 hours, even with the instructions. But once you've done it once its quite easy the next time.

But I must insist, its a clever design and I and my son love it. Some people who saw it, loved it. I love the sounds it has. Its got some intelligent thingy which detects if the car is moving fast or slow and increase or decreases the speed of the engine sound with the speed. I thought that was really cool. Its also got some nice lighting functionality which I thought were amazing, espcially in the dark. All these sounds and lights in the car mode. Not much lights in the Robot mode but, its got some cool statments which the kids tend to memorize.

Ohh one thing, it does not balance well in the Robot mode when standing but its not much of a thing as you can get it stand somehow.

All in all I think its one of the best toys but more as a collectable. Kids will love it if they love Transformers.

I guess the educationational value would be when a kid actually uses his brain to transform the thing from car to bot and vice versa.

Thanks to Hasbros for the creativity.
