Addicting May 17, 2008 This is by far the best multigame set I've found so far. I've had hours of enjoyment. I'll go to other games, but soon find myself coming back to this one.
Nice variety of games, but needs detailed instructions! May 16, 2008 Bottom line up front: This is a undoubtedly a wonderful cartridge if you're already familiar with lots of different types of games. But if you're like me and don't have a lot of gaming experience, you're probably going to have issues with many of the games on this cartridge due to lack of instructions.
I've had this game for a couple months now, and I will admit it's been the cartridge most often in my NDS Lite lately. In fact, I play one or more of the games almost every night before I go to bed. But I have a major issue with the thing, and it's this: If you don't already know how to play all the games (or games similar to them), you're not going to be able to enjoy them all without a LOT of trial, error and wasted time.
The problem is that (in my opinion) the games are not all intuitive, and there are not enough instructions for each game. Quite possibly I'm an idiot, but one or two sentences in the *?* menu in each game just isn't enough to allow me to play every game well enough to be satisfied that I'm getting my time and money's worth. It's kind of like getting a new cell phone without an instruction manual: if you've had a cell phone before, you can figure out some of the intuitive functions, but if you really want to get the most out of your phone and service provider, you need the manual!
As a result, there are only a handful of Touchmaster games -- maybe a dozen -- that I feel confident I'm playing pretty well. So those are usually the only ones I play, with occasional forays into the rest of the games. But when I do try the other games, I frequently get frustrated because I don't understand the rules/objectives and don't have the patience (or the time!) to spend hours figuring them out for myself. So I head back to my well-known dozen. I'm happy with those games, but I wish I could play the others, too -- WITHOUT having to spend hours trying to figure them out.
All this could be fixed easily by a booklet that provides at least a paragraph of instructions for each game. Or -- maybe this is too obvious -- build more instructions into the individual games!
Better than watching paint dry? May 14, 2008 I was disappointed. I just bought the DS with Brain Age 2 and wanted Tetris, but that's so expensive now that I tried Touch Master instead. The games were OK but nothing great. I think what is missing is manipulating the objects on the screen...none of the decision making of Tetris, just one touch playing. The skill level needed seemed like something for young kids, not adults.
I LOVE TOUCHMASTER May 13, 2008 I love this game, but, that said, I have to say that I only love about six or seven of the games, out of the 23. The "freecell" and "tri-peaks" games are very addictive for me, but I guess that there is a game out there somewhere that has all of the card games included...? There are a few more card games on this, that I like.
I also love the mahjong, the trivia, and even the "wheel of fortune" type games. This is a great set of games.
I only wish that someone would come out with some of the really cool Atari classics, all in one package. Or, is it already out there, and I missed it?
There is one thing that I hate about Touchmaster. It keeps the top ten scores for each game, which is nice. BUT...I cannot find a way to delete the top scores, and start from scratch. If anyone knows a way, please let me know.
Great game for puzzlers May 12, 2008 A variety of puzzles to keep you occupied. Just what I was looking for.
