4 out of 5 stars 08 Makes the grade   June 18, 2008
To be honest, Tiger Woods 08 is a lot like the other ones in this best selling franchise, but there are some differences worth noting. First off, the tiger challenge mode has been greatly expanded with all aspects of a golfing game included. Also, there are confidence drills sprinkled in to help you gain an edge down the road. These confidence drills are saved and analyzed to identify your strengths and weaknesses to improve your game.23 golfers and 14 courses make this game a treat, as well as the game face feature which allows you to make a pretty freaky replica of yourself to play on the course.Add in the ESPN ticker with updates and breaking news and you have a game that is fun and challenging at the same time. A must buy for golf fans as well as sports fans alike.

5 out of 5 stars What a deal!   June 8, 2008
In the past few years at work, I have had little time to play any game let alone touch a computer for relaxation. I rarely get home, but when I do I cant wait to play Tiger Woods Golf. What a great transaction too... I received the game in less than a week and at a fraction of what I would have paid at a store.

4 out of 5 stars Fun, but flawed   June 2, 2008
Tiger Woods Golf 2008 (PC) is a solid par, but too many bugs prevent it from making birdie. The graphics are solid - provided you have the video power, I had to upgrade my onboard Intel graphics - and the selection of golf courses is very good. St Andrews (The Old Course), The K Club, and Riviera are especially well rendered. There are several annoyances - incorrect score card yardages, bizarre club selections from the auto caddy, no way to see a running stroke tally, no way to select a course to play for a "casual" round, the same commentary (which is still inappropriate about 20% of the time) from Feherty and McCord that goes back at least to TWG 2004 - that really bug me. But overall the game is fun, and the several different game formats ensures it will be a long time before every scenario is completed. Recommended, but far from an "ace".

5 out of 5 stars Tiger Woods 2008 Golf PC Game   February 5, 2008
I bought this game for my husband for Christmas (he has all the previous versions of this game) and he has been playing it ever since. The 2007 game had more options to make the player look like yourself, but he still had fun creating his player. He said the courses were great. He also said it would probably be the last Tiger Woods game he would buy unless they came up with something really unique! I am not a golfer, so I can't say. But, I am betting that he will request this game for next Christmas!

1 out of 5 stars Great for masochists   January 19, 2008

This game is easy for a non-gamer like myself to 'get into'; the options and PC controls are reasonably straightforward. As I progressed in 'golfing' efficiency I realized that the game is not geared to reward good shots and penalize bad ones, but to some agenda of its creators. Doing everything 'right' can bring disastrous results, depending on this agenda. Life provides enough hard knocks without volunteering for them. Only a masochist will stomach this punishment for more than 30 hours or so. So... the question becomes: how much is 30 hours of moderately interesting entertainment worth? Your call.
