4 out of 5 stars Cool Karaoke Game!   June 25, 2008

This one is more fun than the 1st version, 'cause most of the lyrics are easy to sing than the 1st one. I enjoy the time of singing and it's really helpful in some of my party. Pretty cool game[...]

I bought this as a gift for my brother, who is in his 30's. We played it for the first time with our parents and had a ball! Hours of family fun.
Even for me and I can't carry a tune in a bucket. Our parents were not as familiar with all the songs on this version, but there was enough of a selection to keep them in the game. You need to have your own microphone. (We had to go purchase one.) Overall, we had a great time and would all reccommend it. My brother says he plays it constantly and thinks he is the AMERICAN IDOL...

4 out of 5 stars You CAN BE an American Idol   March 29, 2008
This latest installment of the Karaoke Revolution is the same mix of easy and hard skill levels to satisfy all Potential Idols, but now we get to hear Paula give her review of your performance as well! (Even though she seems to say the same things "Laura" from the first ' Idol game said).
Overall, this is a fun experience for the whole family!

4 out of 5 stars So much fun!   March 26, 2008
I just bought this game and the 1st AI game. I don't have any other Karaoke Rev or Singstar games. I LOVE this game. It is so much fun. It's nice how you can change the mix so you can adjust the volumes of the track vocals, music, microphone, etc. and turn up the vocals on the track so it's more like singing along on the radio (for people like me who aren't very good). I LOVE LOVE this game.

2 out of 5 stars The other one (with Laura) is better.   March 1, 2008

I was excited about getting this one as a followup to the original American Idol game, especially because now the trio would be "complete", with the presence of Paula.

However, the more I played it, the more disappointed I got. It seems like Paula phoned in her comments over the phone. The songs seem like "all the ones we rejected from the first American Idol game", with long stretches of no singing, too many slow songs, and some of the most depressing songs I'd ever come across (mostly the "newer" ones). I'm sure some people want to sing a song that ends with "I don't want to be a murderer" over and over, but not me.

There are no new extras to speak of (games and such) and once I scored Platinum on all the tunes I said that was enough. I'll stick with the original, thanks.
