Product Description DSI Games B-17: Fortress in the Sky for Nintendo DS The U.S. Army Air Force 8th Bomber Command, called The Mighty 8th flew daylight missions over occupied Europe, striking specific military targets with pinpoint accuracy. B17 Flying Fortress: The Mighty Eighth grabs all the latest revolutionary, 3-D graphics technology to recreate that period, giving you total control of every aspect of this strategic air war, including the opposition. Command one B17 or a squadron of 12 in full battle formation. Look after 10 or 120 crewmen, or you can become any oneof them. Plan strategic missions based on reconnaissance that you have requested. Fly in the escortplanes, or pilot the Luftwaffe fighters who are trying to shoot the B17s down!

A nice try, but no cigar February 29, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
A far cry from "the mighty 8th", this game while fun for a while, seems watered down for the kids.

This game was pretty good.
I thought that it was going to be bad but it was actually pretty good, the levels were just a little to easy though. Overall it was good. I recomend that you shoud buy this game.
I was getting bored of my nintendo ds and then i bought this game and now i play it all the time. When you play the game over agian you don't even realize the difference from when you first played it the first time. You got to do everything, shoot the planes, fly the plane, drop the bombs, everything. The only thing I have agianst the game is that you fly solo and not with other planes. Its awesome, still buy it.
Boring and repetitive July 9, 2007 4 out of 8 found this review helpful
I was hoping this would be an attempt at a 3D combat flight simulator, but I was very disappointed. This poorly implemented shoot-em-up is repetitive and tedious after a few minutes of play. The 3D graphics are almost non-existent, and the audio loops become very annoying. The DS touch interface is not used to great advantage either.
It would be great to see someone eventually develop a flight simulator for the DS, in the spirit of the old "Red Baron" or "Aces over the Pacific", both of whose graphics the DS should be able to handle. Unfortunately, B-17 is not such a game.
