4 out of 5 stars fun game, good graphics for a tiny hand held anyting   May 14, 2008
Episode III is fun and has shocking light sabre animation considering the console it is ported to being less than the size of the hand(playing the game). The dialogue is abridged from the movie(leaving out the campy lame stuff light "noooOOO!" and "General Greivous, your much smaller than I expected") and leaving good catch phrazes like "My powers have 'doubled since we last met" "Good! Twice the pride, twice the fall..." and is amusing, of course, this being for young(er) childeren too, the transitions are left out as the emperor's mutilation by Mace's parry counters and of course no Vader burning scene is shown. Only a quick dialgoue and a scene to get to the next part of the plot as "killing " Windu. I myself wish it was more revealing so you could see what happened between scenes but it is a family game so it gets left out. The Emperor gets "magically" transformed without much detail. Still the game is fun during the boss scenes and what the GBA lacks is a very elaborate two-part spacecraft dog fight mission per every few levels of play of this DS version. The space ship flight is the best(visually) part of the game and quite dynamic, use banks and accelleration for greater effect! I mean, think about it, this is not a Playstation, it is a handheld and should not be compared to a full sized port nor a PC(or whatever else) I am quite grateful!

3 out of 5 stars Revenge of the Sith DS   October 24, 2007
This game is entertaining, but visually doesn't compare to the film. The sprites and character's faces during dialogue in the side-scrolling stages resemble characters and animation that would be found in a Disney version of the movie. The animation during these scenes is great, but the enemies so far (I'm half way through the game judging by the plot) are almost entirely composed of different droids. The game composers even when so far as to create new droids as enemies which do not appear in the movie.
The sound, however, is excellent and the 3-D fighter scenes are graphically comparable to Starfox in control and look, with slightly more realistic detail on the ship(s), but the control in theses scenes (as well as most of the game) are pad-button-based. Overall the game is entertaining, but I think the character fight stages could have been changed to a 3-D third-person and the graphics made more realistic if they had done away with the 3-d fighter stages and created an entirely new game based on fighters exclusively.
I purchased my cartridge used on Ebay, and I'm glad I didn't pay full price for it. It's altogether entertaining for a Star Wars fan.

5 out of 5 stars Son loves it!   August 29, 2007

My son was clamoring for this game for his birthday. Though it isn't the newest or most techie of games, he still enjoys it and relates the characters and situations to the movies.

4 out of 5 stars Great 2D scroller   June 17, 2007

I played around 7 games for the DS and two seem to be worth the time.

One is biohazard. The other is this game. When I finished biohazard, I gave it to someone.

When I finished this one, I kept going back to it because it is simple/brainless fun.

The only problem would be the 3D flight multiplay is difficult to find someone to battle out with. This portion of the game could have been a good game in itself.

3 out of 5 stars It will grow on you...   May 17, 2007

I will keep this short. This game is a simple hack and slash affair with some force moves thrown in to mix it up. The levels can get repetetive however some semi-decent flying stages help break up the action. I was initially turned off by the cartoony graphics presentation (considering they contradict the "non-cartoony" flying levels) but in time I came to appreciate the nice animations. Anakin and Obi do a lot of the moves seen in the films, however it is all done randomly based on how and where you are standing when you strike an enemy, but a nice touch none the less. There is not much in the way of the dual screen being utilized. Would have been nice to use the stylus to force throw items at enemies. All in all this title is a decent game. It will grow on you. It won't challange you to the fullest of your abilities but if you are a Star Wars fan, and can over-look the Manga style presentation (which keeps within the spirit of the film) then you should like this game. I'm pretty picky but this game does just enough right for me to recommend it (Especially if you can get it for under $18.00 like i did. May the Schwartz be with you!
