I was fun, i liked the fact they have songs that ghwt doesnt have. the graphics arent the best but they are decent for the ds. And they should put smooth criminal on ghwt already!!! lol.
An Expansion, (almost) Nothing More... November 22, 2008

This game is basically the same as the DS's first instalation of Guitar Hero this past June, but it also features song sharing, a way to utilize the first GH:DS to make the DS to DS multiplayer even more expansive (up to 53 songs to rock out together with). It includes 28 songs compared to the first instalation's 25 songs, which for the most part is a solid tracklist. It has its clinkers (as much as I love "We Are The Champions", I must admit that its 45-second piano solo do not fit Guitar Hero), but I love songs such as "Can't Stop" and "Sweet Home Alabama".
Overall, I'd say this is a pretty fun DS game. It may not vary much from the game of June, but if you liked that one, you'll have a blast with this one. Perhaps its not worth its $35 game-only price tag, but jamming out on the DS doesn't get much better than this.

There is no stopping the drive of music rhythm games that are coming to the consoles. With the massive success of Rock Band for the PS3 and Xbox 360, many have wondered if rhythm games will be able to drive on the handhelds. Well, that was the case earlier this year for the Nintendo DS. With the appeal of bringing Guitar Hero to the Nintendo DS, many gamers now had the ability to rock out loud without the hastle of staying at home and strumming to your favorites. While the first Guitar Hero: On Tour was a exceptional concept, many die hard gamers were hoping that there would be something more to say you are going to rock out loud to. Well, Nintendo DS owners now have a new opportunity to say you way to rock.
Guitar Hero: On Tour Decades for the Nintendo DS brings in again the action and drive that made the first Guitar Hero: On Tour a success, but with a little but as much of the same. The gameplay brings in a little more action, as gamers now have the ability to battle against other DS gamers online, which wasn't featured on the earlier Guitar Hero: On Tour. There are over 20 different songs that gamers will find interesting on the go that try to appeal to hard core gamers throughout each decade including guilty pleasures like Journey's Any Way You Want It, Boston's lesser-known Rock And Roll Band, and Bon Jovi's You Give Love A Bad Name. There are also a few songs that actually are surprising here on the list as well including Los Lobos cover of La Bamba and one-hit wonder Blind Melon with their 1993 hit No Rain, to recent favorites like All-American Rejects diddy Dirty Little Secret, and Alien Ant Farm's rendition of Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal.
While the graphics seem to be just similar to the original Guitar Hero: On Tour, I was also hoping for a bit more diversity in the songlist. You have some of the same songs that have been used from other rhythm games. The control also is just as challenging as before, but I was hoping that there honestly could've been a bit more with a better. When you yell out Rock Out, it doesn't always blast out the star power you've built up. It might be a problem when you use the DS Microphone, so instead, I'd suggest you use the Nintendo DS microphone headset to make the gameplay easier. Secondly, I was also hoping for a bit more challenge in the career mode that we've seen from Guitar Hero: World Tour.
All in all, Guitar Hero: On Tour Decades for the Nintendo DS isn't a bad game, and improves on the multiplayer aspect with the Wi-Fi gameplay, but you don't have as much diversity in the songlist. If there is another one that comes out soon, let's hope there is really a bit more to say rock out loud to.
