Not very neccesary. March 7, 2008 This product is only good is if you have either Pokemon Stadium or Stadium 2 because those are the only two games I am aware of that uses the Transfer Pak. So unless you are very dedicated to the N64 and either Pokemon Stadium game and love Pokemon still this is not a worthy buy. Its overall preformance is good, it rarely has a problem.
cant stop thinking about my old game September 9, 2007 I never really got to play the game on the nintindo 64 becuase I never had one, I only had the gameboy, and it wasnt even in color. Now that I have an old nintindo from family, and the transfer pak, I cant stop thinking about playing the game even though it's an older, no longer produced game. I'm happy :)
Great to use June 4, 2006 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a great thing to use if you play pokemon stadium. it stays put all most all of the time and holds your games really well. My only problem with it is if you hold it the wrong way, it hurts your fingers.
kind of useless August 28, 2005 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
the transfer pak only works on a limited number of games and u wont use it a lot unless u have pokemon stadium or perfect dark. if u have those games and hvae game boy versions of them, buy this. If u dont theres not a real reason to buy this if u dont own those games.
A real pain in the neck! June 15, 2005 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
Alright, so if you want to succeed in Pokémon Stadium, or Pokémon Stadium 2, you'll really need to get a N64 Transfer Pack to transfer your Game Boy Pokémon into your Nintendo 64 game. Great, with this transfer pack you have everything you need to succeed, but look out, this little baby has a lot of flaws. For one thing, it is not very stable, a quick move of your controller could lose the connection and if you are in the middle of one of the big Pokémon Stadium battles, that could really make you angry. It takes several tries to get your Pokémon game pack, your transfer pack and your controller to "synchronize," you may get the pop-up message "There was a problem with the transfer pack" message a lot of times before you finally get it correctly into place and even then, it might quit on you when you least expect it. This item is very expensive and not very reliable, so you might want to think about getting it used, since it is unlikely that it has suffered any damage as it is pretty durable. Another problem is that very few Game Boy games are compatible with this, if you don't have a GB, then make sure the games you buy are compatible before spending the large ammount of money on them. If your life on Nintendo 64 and Game Boy revolves around Pokémon, then having two transfer packs would take away the need for a Game Boy, because in Pokémon Stadium, you can easily trade Pokémon using two transfer packs and two compatible Pokémon cartriges and you can simply play the game on Nintendo 64 without the need of a Gameboy, however, this advice is for Pokémon-only players only.
In conclusion, the transfer pack is pretty much required to beat Pokémon Stadium (One comes with that game), as well as Pokémon Stadium 2. If you have the sequel but not the original, then you'll probably find yourself in need of your trusted Game Boy Pokémon at some point.
