I purchased this mouse to use with my laptop and overall I am rather impressed with it. The size is perfect; small enough to toss in your laptop bag, but still big enough to use comfortably even with large hands like mine. It looks good as well and can be purchased in a variety of colors if you are so inclined. The transmitter/receiver is great as well because it is small enough to leave plugged in without worrying about it getting broken while moving the laptop around on a cluttered desk or placing it in your bag. The mouse tracks nicely on all surfaces I have used it on, including my leg, and it slides around easily. The roller and keys are also reasonably quiet, which is great when you are using it during a meeting, class, or in any quiet spot.
Now the reason I give it 4 stars. I purchased mine and it went DOA in a little more than a week. The problem appeared to be somewhere in the transmitter because the mouse powered up just fine and the laser was on. I contacted Logitech online for warranty service and I have to say they were spectacular. They got back to me in less than 24 hours and within a couple of e-mail transactions and some troubleshooting, my replacement was on the way. All they asked for was a scan or fax of my receipt, the unit information, and my shipping info. They said it would be 7 - 10 days before the replacement left the warehouse, but I got it in under a week. That has been a couple of weeks ago, and so far so good. If this one holds up like I hope, then I will give it a full 5-star rating. Until then, the mouse gets 4-stars and Logitech customer service gets the five.

This mouse is far superior to the other laptop mice I have in my collection. The free wheel scrolling is by far my favoriate feature. In addition to the several buttons it has, it works wonderfully left handed. By far the best notebook/laptop mouse I have ever owned.

The tiny transmitter works flawlessly. Since I received it a few weeks ago, it stays plugged in. Amazing work of engineering!

I am a field service engineer and I use a laptop frequently. Im also moving my laptop around quite a bit. I never have to take the receiver out of my USB port. The laser is great when there is no table, just my leg. I highly recomend this to anyone that has a job that requires a laptop.

I have several other Logitech mice, but none compared to this little gem. Logitech has really done their homework, and packed more features into this little mouse than I thought possible. Everything is fully customizable, and installation was a no-brainer. I use mine on a Macbook, and had zero problems during installation. The small little USB connector for notebooks is a real blessing--plug it in and forget it. Having the ability to do horizontal scrolling via the Center scroll wheel is genius, and much appreciated on a small monitor. With all the controls, one barely needs to move the mouse at all! I would say run, not walk to get this mouse. I bought mine used for about $40, but think it's worth the asking price.
