Product Description If you're connecting your Nintendo Wii to a progressive scan television, then these component cables are a must have. The Nintendo Wii is capable of two graphic resolutions, 480i for basic TVs, and 480p for progressive scan TVs. The switch to progressive scan gaming on the Wii will result in a marked improvement in overall image quality, and you can only enable 480p on the Wii with a set of Wii Component Cables.

Does what it, says it does September 29, 2008 A cheap and working alternative to expensive named brand hd component cables. Its a steal and looks lovely on my tv. Great Product!
Works, but cannot ever get 480p out of it August 15, 2008 Cable works with my Wii and my Sony Bravia, but I cannot get anything to come out at 480p, it always displays at 480i. Even though my menu settings in the Wii are for 480p, it just never seems to transmit that...or at least that is what my TV is reporting. I did read some other reviews where other people had this same problem and said it was the cable. I've also read where that somehow the cable tells the Wii that it is capable of carrying 480p and to "unlock" tha feature. I don't know if this is true or not. I guess I could do a test with the original cable that came with the Wii for I have yet to take that out of the packaging.
Regardless, the cable works with my Wii, just not as advertised. I also agree with other reviewers where they complain that the cable end is "bundled" and difficult to split off is you have the video part going into your TV and you want the audio part to go into your AV receiver. I had to get some additional cables at Radio Shack in order to make that happen.
Nothing wrong with it, just not too impressed August 13, 2008 I wasn't expecting too much when I found out the Wii itself is limited to 480p. I wasn't disappointed. Looks the same to me, some people swear it's sharper, causing the curved objects to have more of a jagged edge, but I don't think that's true. It may also be that I can't tell. Overall, I would say to get this cable only if you are running short on composite inputs on your TV.
Works but... July 14, 2008 The difference between component and composite is definitely noticeable on HD screens and this cable does it's job. But, it's kinda flimsy and I had to kind of bend the wires and twist the connectors sometimes to get the right colors to come out on the tv.
Improvement over standard cables June 9, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It's only 480p but it does sharpen the picture on my hdtv(Samsung ln46a550). I belive it's worth it.
