5 out of 5 stars works better than I expected   June 18, 2007

You should be very pleased with this product. In comparasion to the datel wi-fi max, well, that product may work better for the PSP, but overall the nintendo WiFi usb connector is superior. If you have a nintendo DS this is truely a good product. You intall the software, plug the thing in, and that really is about all you do. you're online after that. yeah, i was surprised too. there's no mess of configuring this or that. the software asks ONE time if you want to connect to a particular DS, you say yes, and that's all there is too it! i am not sure about the overheating issue. i don't want to contradict anybody. nintendo may have recently improved this product because i can have mine on for a few hours and it doesn't get warm. i don't plan on keeping it on for days or nothing. the signal is strong, i live in a trailor but it can still go through two walls to my furthest bedroom (with both doors closed.)i don't have a small trailor, either. i am confident if your wii is close enough it will be an excellent product to use to go online with, too. i did have one issue with this, but even that issue is gone. my firewall wasn't allowing it to connect. this lead to disabling the firewall (mcafee.) then going online. my sollution was to enable the WINDOWS firewall and leave the Mcafee one off. i am not sure but i believe every windows XP comes with a windows firewall. simply go to the control pannel and it's under the security center. there's all sorts of tabs there (actually only three i think) one lets you turn on windows firewall and the second one allows you to grant access to this product. it is very simple even if this sounds difficult. so pick one of these up, i am sure you will be pleased. just don't get it for the PSP or laptops or anything silly like that.

4 out of 5 stars Works well but not for homebrew support   June 16, 2007

This is a solid product, your original nds games will be up and running in no time. However, that being said, if you have a M3 or similar development device to run homebrew on your NDS/NDSL the wifi won't work when using a development slot1/2 device. Also, you can only connect nds/wii to this. However, there is a workaround, if you uninstall the nintendo drivers and install asus drivers and set it up properly you can use it as wireless for any device, including homebrew.

5 out of 5 stars If U own a DS, U have to get this   June 8, 2007

I'm 27 years old and I love the Nintendo Ds. There, I said it. If you own one, you need this wi fi thing so that you can play tetris and mario kart (and more) against people over the internet. It's so much fun! Just get it!

4 out of 5 stars Connector usually Connects   May 31, 2007
After I got this in the mail, I started by inserting the included Driver CD. The installation took unusually long in comparison to most programs I have installed in the past, but I cannot be certain if this is normal or just what happened to me.

After the installation, I had to do a restart and there was a small icon in the bottom at the taskbar.

Pros: Lets you know when users connect to the device, and has an option to disallow certain users from connecting (Parental controls I assume), although I doubt I will ever use that feature. The speed seems to work very well, but of course this depends on your own internet connection speed. Its a bit larger then a regular Thumbdrive, but the LED on the connector serves as an additional measure of how things are going on (A green light for good status, red/orange for trouble).

Cons: Occasionally the device will not recognize the DS when inserted into the USB Port, but I've found that a simple restart of the computer with the Connector left in the USB Port will correct this. A very minor issue, but initially the device tends to get very hot, but over-time it seems to have 'adjusted' to my laptop and no longer gets nearly as high in temperature.

Overall the device does its job but I wish it was constructed a bit better, if only to stop the overheating that can occur.
