Product Description Advance Wars: Dual Strike is the latest in the hit tactical series. Enjoy an incredible new battle system that takes full advantage of the Nintendo DS system's two screens. New missions will have you commanding air forces on the top screen and ground forces below on the touch screen. Besides leading your army to victory with a slew of original COs, you can also clash with your friends over wireless connections. Easy-to-use map editor

Best game EVER! June 4, 2008 Okay, maybe not. But pretty freaking close. It's definitely the best DS game out there.
Dual Strike improves every aspect of the previous versions ten fold. It's the perfect sequel game: Take Advance Wars 2 and add a bunch more COs, units, maps, better graphics, etc., and you have this game.
Pros: + Many more COs than the previous version + More units + New Tag power + Ability to use 2 COs at the same time + Keeping of old COs and units + Better graphics + Nice campaign/plot + Endless replay value (if you have friends, that is)
Cons: - Well, the only thing that ISN'T good about this game is if you're an idiot and can't figure out how to use strategies. I'll admit, if you're new to Advance Wars, it WILL take a little while to figure everything out, but that's to be expected. As long as your smarter than a rock, figuring out a good strategy isn't hard.
I'd recommend this game to anyone. That is, unless you suck at strategy; in which case, you might want to think twice about it. Even if you suck at strategy, this game shouldn't take too long to get used to. Just don't get it if you HATE strategy.
Once I got into Dual Strike, I realized that it was the only DS game I'd ever need; until, of course, Advance Wars: Days of Ruin came out (which I have also reviewed). =)
tactical crack February 13, 2008 I first discovered the advance wars series on the gba....and have been playing each game in the series ever since. All the old favorites have returned, including Andy and Sami, and also some new faces. added highlights include dual screen battles (sometimes you don't actually control the top screen's troops) and more CO's, double CO powers, and more maps and vehicles types.
Even with all these added improvements....the gameplay itself is very balanced. There are times though, where the enemy will use a double CO power to totally turn the tide against you, but you are also free to do the same.
After beating the campaign mode, you can play battle mode, make your own maps, unlock Hard Campaign, and trade maps with other players. the DS version also includes the ability to play multiplayer with one DS and one cartridge, just as the gba versions allowed.
This is one of my favorite games, and has sucked more free time from my bones than any other game in recent memory.
(Almost) Perfect! November 26, 2007 A beautiful strategy game for DS players who like to think! One of the best games to come out for the system. I only wish it used WI-Fi...

One the best strategy games for Gameboy November 17, 2007 Advance Wars - Dual Strike is the 3rd Advance Wars title available and the first on the Nintendo DS platform. Advance Wars is a turn-based strategy war game. Each player takes turns moving and attacking with their game pieces, which could be soldiers, anti-air, tanks, planes, and ships. Advance Wars is very fun in a sense that it plays similar to a game of chess. You must strategize what your oppenent might do next. The campaign mode is very long and very challenging. One thing I didn't like about the game is how fast it ramps up the difficulty. The beginning levels are very easy but it quickly becomes very hard and you'll find yourself wanting to quit playing on many tough fights. I also really enjoyed the multiplayer aspect - if you know someone with a DS you can play against them with just 1 cart. This added alot of replay value for me. Overall I found Advance Wars - Dual Strike to be a very fun turn based strategy game and if you enjoy them you should pick it up.
