Product Description
Bomberman DS makes the most of the dual-screen feature of the Nintendo DS. The intense bombing competitions now take places on two screens, for a wider view of the game. Use a variety of menus with the DS Touch Screen.

4 out of 5 stars Classic that is best in Battlemode with friends or against the computer   August 24, 2007
Incredibly playable game. You can pick it up for a 5 minute distraction on your own or a 30 minute engagement, or spend hours playing your friends. We play this game almost every day during lunch hour at work, 4+ people in battle mode and it just never gets old. The best thing is that you can play by yourself against the computer and "practice". Great value as I got this for <$20.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome   May 7, 2007
Veery addictive good for those long waits in very boring places (doctors offices and car trips) needs online capability

3 out of 5 stars Multi-player is great, single player is horrible   November 7, 2006

Featuring old school gameplay, this is yet another version of Bomberman. The best feature of this game is it's wireless multi-player. Up to 8 players can play off of a single card. Every game mode and stage is accessable, and if you don't have others to play with, you can add CPU players to compete with. The worst part of this game is the entire single player mode. It's very repetitive, very short, and just not the same as trying to blow up an actual person.

4 out of 5 stars Fun, only in multiplayer   February 15, 2006

This game is better if you only play it in multiplayer. Its fun when you have 3 ~ 8 friends / computers (which you can set). The computers are a little hard to set them at easy. Also set soo much handicaps because it gets soo much better than way!

The games is based on where you are this "bomber" who destorys your enemies and all the people in your way! The story mode has no point (or atleast I haven't gotten to the point yet) so multiplayer is the only way to have fun.

The weapons are amusing though. The bombs which explode can turn into spikes. There is also a voice detonate section where when you say "bomb" into the microphone (or any other nonsense) your bomb will explode. I had to face this the hard way with an open window so it would always explode once you place it.

Overall, this game can keep you amused for a good period of time. Buy it if you have 3 or more friends / family members with a DS.

4 out of 5 stars Great classic is updated with multiplayer   August 20, 2005

Bomberman was always a basic arcade style game. The DS adds new life into it by allowing a single card to host up to 8 players in multiplaying fun.

First, the single player mode. Think of this as sort of a combination of pac-man and dig-dug. You move through a 2-D world, blowing up blocks, slaying enemies, looking for power-ups and a way out. The map randomly generates each time, so your strategic skills need to be sharp. It's great fun in the classic puzzler sense.

Where the game really shines, though, is in multi-player. Your friends don't have to all go out and buy copies of their own - they can simply play on your one card. There are a variety of fun games to play, and some of them use the microphone. Even if you're killed off early in a game, there are still ways for you to interact until the game is over.

The graphics are on the basic side, but that's fine. This is after all a classic game, and you are paying more attention to the combinations of actions you have to perform than to the stellar depictions of rocks :)

The sounds are pretty basic, but again this is an arcade game. You're not playing it for symphonic stereo glory. The sounds are good enough to keep you involved as you blow up rocks and avoid enemies.

Well recommended for any Bomberman fan, and any fan of puzzles. This isn't a long term epic. It's a short, fun game that is different each time you play it - and is oodles of fun with friends!
