5 out of 5 stars This game is perfection and bliss.   March 23, 2008
It brings great joy and should have brought tears to my eye the first couple times I played it.

This is one of the 5 or so games that I could get almost ANYONE to play with me.

My younger brother isn't a big gamer. Sure, he adores Grand Theft Auto and such but he's no gamer. But the first time he played this, he couldn't put it down.

My old friend is also a big, big fan. We would play and play and play.

You literally get sucked into this damn game because of the speed and intensity it provides.

when i said perfection, i'm not exaggerating.

from what i recall from this game, i used to give it a 9.5/10. it is probably THE BEST racing game i've ever played and only few come close!

graphics - 4.5/5
gameplay - 5/5
car choice - 5/5
level (amount) - 5/5
replayability - 5/5
overall: 5/5

get this. get this. get this (if you can find it)! one doesn't come close to its greatness (not even close) and i'm sure three doesn't either. although i haven't had that long of a chance with it so i can't totally "un" recommend three.

edit: if it means anything, the only other games my bro used to play were goldeneye 007, perfect dark and the ssx series. once in a while, he'd play snowboard kids 2. :P

AMAZING! Funnily enough there is "educational value" in this rip-roaring, explosive, cool game. That message is: BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN DRIVING A REAL CAR!!!!! But seriously, this rocks![...] Crashes are awesome; gameplay is awesome. There's just one thing I have to say: I know this review is short and not as detailed as others and that is because if I said everything else it would be what everyone else has said.

BUY THIS GAME!!!!

Hi. I don't officially own this game, but almost. They have a copy of it at the Youth Center for us to play. I don't have as much time to go there anymore, but I did during the summer. I went every day and played Burnout 2. Whenever I got the chance.

Rating:on a scale of one to ten. 100. that's not a typo.
It has:
great crashes
awesome cars
unbelievable sense of speed
cool ways to play, crash or race mode
good graphics

I love this game. I wanted Burnout 3 for Christmas, but I don't think you can get it for a Gamecube. I think Burnout 2 is better though.

In conclusion, I'd like to say a few words. GET THIS GAME!!!!!!

4 out of 5 stars One of the best arcade racers EVER!!!!!!!   December 10, 2004

Man, As soon as I heard that BO2 was goin' to be realesed on the Gamecube I peed my pants! O_O :p So I bought it off the shelf and I opened the Disc case and started playing this AMAZING game, Here's the Review:

Graphics:The graphics are one of the best on the GC, The cars look cool and have that shiny look to them, The levels are so amazing you'll think it's real-life. Seriously, one of the best Graphics on a Racer. 9/10.

Sound:Good sound effects, I love hearing the Engines roar, But the music sucks...I advise you to turn it off. 7/10.

Gameplay:BEST.PART.OF.THE.GAME. Is the gameplay of course! The gameplay in this game is *B R I L L I A N T* It's so cool to unlock the custom cars and fill your boost bar, The controls are easy too, Even my 7 yr old brother can play it with ease. 10/10.

Replayability:Tons of replay values. and I mean TONS...Going through all the Championships and unlocking all the cars is one hell of a job, Oh and theres time trial too. ;) So it'll take a LONG time to finish the game. 9/10.

Overall:

Graphics:9.
Sound:7.
Gameplay:10.
Replay Value:9.

The Good:
~Lots of cool cars.
~Tons of replay value.
~Normal and reverse levels.
~Crash mode.
~Nice Graphics.

The Bad:
~Crashes get a bit boring to watch after a while.
~Time trial sucks.
~Some crash levels are the same.
~TOO.HARD.
~Filling your boost bar.

Rent or Buy:A definite buy.

5 out of 5 stars The best racing game I have ever played!   July 24, 2004

The problem I have with many games today is that it's very hard to steer your car because of the realistic physics. Here, though, steering your car is easy. Like any good game, it's a piece of cake to learn but tough (yet possible) to master. There are several different game modes. The crash mode is a golden idea, and other companies will definitely be jealous they didn't think of it first. The crashes are very realistic, although it might be better if the logs rolled off the trucks and the oil rigs exploded. The only downside is that there isn't a wide variety of tracks. Technically, there are 32 tracks, but most of them are just combinations of two tracks or a backward version of a track. I wish there were 32 DIFFERENT racetracks instead of 10 or 12 different ones and 20 other combined versions of them. Pursuit mode is real cool, too, and you can unlock over 10 different cars and 20 different tracks. If you're bored by my rambling on and just want a reccommendation, buy the game!
